Joant Úbeda is the son of Nicaraguan refugees who fled from the country’s Sandinista-Contra War of the 1980s. At age 10, his parents bought him a small camcorder with which he made short action films with his neighbours and edited them in-camera. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree in film directing with New York University and is now a Film director based in Singapore.
He also works at PwC’s newest Experience Centre as an in-house film director to focus on creative technology projects. This year he released his feature film debut, Sementara (“transient”), which is a documentary encapsulating the philosophies, daydreams, and crucial moments strangers share. Its world premiere will be held at the prestigious 31st Singapore International Film Festival on November 29th.
We talk about his journey as a Film Director and how you can use storytelling to produce the best content for your business and increasing the ROI in your marketing.
